Winter...

Winter is a bit fickle!

Sunshine and shadows one day,

Then rain and ice the next.

Finally Snow...

I made it to strong living this morning by the skin of my teeth sliding sideways a few times.  My friend Sally gave me a ride home.  Now let's hope Tom can retrieve my little car safely.  I'm going nowhere today!

More Cabins...

I never knew there were so many little cabins around Windham.  I was walking this morning up behind my house and came upon this beauty.  Whoever owns this has miles of firewood cut, ready for anything I guess.

Sourdough Bread...

I spent part of today shuffling around the kitchen making potato leek soup and sourdough bread.  It's winter after all.

Blustery...

It was a blustery day today in Vermont!  I ventured out to take a few pictures of our winter wonderland.  It has been snowing lightly all day.  As you can see, this is a frozen waterfall.  This picture suggests cold!

I also spotted a beaver dam.  I had to zoom to get this and now the snowflakes look huge!  I can't figure out why there is a big stick in the middle of the dam.

Downsizing...

Keeping with my new theme of downsizing, I found this lovely cabin.  There is just room for me and my spinning wheel.  Ut oh, ut oh, don't let the rains come down.  My roof's got a hole in it and I might drown.

Happy New Year...

With a new year before us, I think we should all downsize.

"Come with me and we'll strip off these clothes, walk into the woods, live on blackberries and small mannals, toadstools off rotten pine logs.  "These are okay, the ones with the ridges and spots, I think. You go first."
