Black and White

I've been practicing with the black and white setting on my new camera.  This picture is about as cold and bleak as anything I've seen.

I like this one better.  I zoomed on some white birch trees.  I have to admit, though, that the sky was blue and this would have been beautiful in color.

So much for my black and white!
