Spinning Class...

Today I taught a spinning class at the library.  This is my friend Brenda.  She was really quick to learn and as usual we had a lot of laughs.  The overhead spotlights were roasting me and Marilyn kept cutting my head off in the picture.  No kidding, this was a fun class.  I thought everyone did a great job and I am sure some will further pursue this very old skill.

A few short years ago I picked up a drop spindle and haven't put it down since.  It is rhymical, contemplative, and very zen like as it spins its merry thread.  This may be one of the oldest crafts in history that is still practiced today.

  1. Beverly,
Thank you for this class today. My family enjoyed it very much. Henry has been spinning all afternoon. The wonderful drop spindle you made will get a lot of use in my home.
    Thank you again,
